WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT
Imagine being a single mom in a developing nation without an education, specialized work experience, or parenting help. To solve this, we’re offering skills training and sustainable artisan jobs for the women of Haiti.
THE NEED
Women have the desire to work and care for their children, but need sustainable jobs opportunities are not readily available.
Women lack the education needed to properly take care of their health – or that of their children.
Women are marginalized and do not hold equal rights.
OUR PROGRAMS
Micro-loan Program: loaning money for women to start their own business selling goods in the market or from home.
Healthcare Program: Our healthcare program hosts workshops focused on First Aid, Family Planning, Breast Feeding, HIV/STD prevention, Cholera prevention and more as well as periodically hosting mini-clinics
Wellness & Learning Center This space is a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the ladies in the community to come to receive training, and education to help them learn a trade or skill to provide a sustainable future for them and their family.
New Vision Studio is part of the Center where trained professionals in the community offer services to the local women. The technicians have clean and sanitary supplies and products. They invest in themselves and the studio in a Co Operative business platform.
THE IMPACT
Through our micro-loan program- Women Helping Women- we are able to increase the number of financial opportunities for women.
Our workshops educate women on the necessary need for and important of physical health for themselves and their families.
